Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as Duluth Destroyers outscored Peachtree Ridge 9-8 in six innings.
The teams totaled 17 hits, including seven extra base hits in the game.
Dylan Cates pulled double duty, leading Duluth Destroyers on both offense and defense in the win.
Cates boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace Duluth Destroyers. He singled in the second and fourth innings.
Cates worked out of six difficult moments for Duluth Destroyers. He pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs on three hits. Cates faced his most difficult moment in the fifth inning.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.
Duluth Destroyers finally managed to grab the lead after a strong second inning. An error scored Cole Paschall and gave Duluth Destroyers the lead for good.
Peachtree Ridge jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

Duluth Destroyers went up for the duration of the game after the second inning. Additional runs came from an RBI double by Paschall, an RBI single by Cates, and a two-run triple by Daniel Bramlett.

Duluth Destroyers answered Peachtree Ridge's top inning with one run of its own in the fourth. Duluth Destroyers scored on a groundout by Paschall.
One Peachtree Ridge run crossed the plate in the top half of the sixth, making the score 9-8. A wild pitch gave Peachtree Ridge life. Cooper Sheets ended the game by getting Davis Markham caught stealing 2nd base on a throw down by Ethan Doggett.

An eight-run explosion in the third inning led Duluth Destroyers to a 15-4 win in five innings over Norcross at @ Norcross on Sunday.

Duluth Destroyers falls to Grayson 8-4 in spite of Cates' performance

Dylan Cates did all he could to give Duluth Destroyers a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Grayson, as Duluth Destroyers lost 8-4 in six innings at Field #1 on Sunday.
It was a good day at the plate for Duluth Destroyers' Cates. Cates went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Payton Shaddix recorded the win for Grayson. He tossed three innings of shutout ball. The Grayson pitcher struck out one, walked three and surrendered no hits.
Grayson was sparked by Davis Ray and Shaddix, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
The bottom of the first saw Duluth Destroyers take an early lead, 2-0. Cates started the rally for Duluth Destroyers with a single. A stolen base then moved Cates from first to second. Brandon Cothren doubled, plating Cates and Cole Paschall.
Grayson went up for good in the third, scoring three runs on an RBI single by Donald Perteet and a two-run triple by Ray.
Grayson built upon its lead with four runs in the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Sam Warren singled, scoring Evan Sturgill. That was followed up by Hunter Burnett's triple, scoring Connor Sims and Warren.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the sixth, Duluth Destroyers faced just a 8-4 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Paschall and an RBI single by Cothren set off a Duluth Destroyers rally. But, Matthew Greenway got Hunter Autrey to to end the game.

Duluth Destroyers refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Collins Hill, recording a 15-4 victory on Friday at Field #1.
With 15 runs in the first three innings, Duluth Destroyers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

Duluth Destroyers lost 7-6 in six innings at TBD on Tuesday, despite outhitting Hebron eight to five.
Dylan Cates had a good game at the plate for Duluth Destroyers. Cates went 1-3 and scored two runs. He tripled in the fifth inning.
Brandon Cothren kept Hebron off balance while he was on the rubber. Cothren held Hebron hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four.
Austen Jett recorded the win for Hebron even though he allowed five runs over two innings. The Hebron pitcher struck out one, walked one and surrendered five hits.
Hebron was sparked by Crews Taylor and Bradley Kallgren, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
In the top of the first, Duluth Destroyers grabbed the early lead, 1-0. A single by Cothren, scoring Cates started the inning off.
It didn't take long for Hebron to answer as it scored four runs of its own in the third. Hebron scored on a solo home run by Taylor, an error, a steal of home by Zach Richardson, and a steal of home by James Civelli.
The game's last lead went to Hebron thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an RBI double by Civelli and two triples.

Duluth Destroyers dropped a 15-5 decision to Brookwood at Field #1 on Wednesday.
Dylan Cates reached base two times in the game for Duluth Destroyers. Cates singled in the third inning.
Chatfield went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for Brookwood. Chatfield tripled in the second inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.
Hamby got the win for Brookwood. He allowed one run over two innings. The Brookwood pitcher struck out two, walked four and surrendered no hits.
Brookwood never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring six runs on an error, a groundout by Green, an RBI single by Chatfield, and 3s.
Brookwood added two more runs in the top of the second. A wild pitch scored Branch to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Hamby's single, scoring Chatfield.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the second, Duluth Destroyers faced just a 8-2 deficit. triggered Duluth Destroyers' comeback. Brookwood stopped the rally after White got Nick Wiltgen to strike out.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the third, Duluth Destroyers faced just a 9-4 deficit. An RBI double by Ethan Doggett and a wild pitch set off a Duluth Destroyers rally. Finally, Hamby induced an inning-ending strike out from Jacob Cates.
Brookwood increased its lead with six runs in the fourth. A clutch passed ball scored Abboud to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by a groundout by Puckett that scored Chatfield.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, Duluth Destroyers faced just a 15-5 deficit. A wild pitch gave Duluth Destroyers life. Finally, Hamby got Cates to ground out to end the game.

Duluth Destroyers and Hebron played to a 10-10 tie on Friday at Field #1.
Hebron jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Zach Richardson, scoring Crews Taylor started the inning off.
Duluth Destroyers tied the game in the fifth on a passed ball that scored Cole Paschall.

Ethan Doggett brought home the winning run to give Duluth Destroyers the lead in the sixth inning, as Duluth Destroyers hung on to beat Georgia Select Navy 3-2 on Monday.
Dylan Cates hit into a fielder's choice to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Doggett came to the plate with the score tied at two in the sixth inning, and tripled, scoring Cates.
Doggett had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
Brandon Cothren looked sharp on the rubber. Georgia Select Navy managed just one hit off of Cothren, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Duluth Destroyers piled up the steals, swiping eight bags in all. Ben Moser, Cole Paschall, Andrew Matheson, and Cates each had one stolen base and Cothren and Christian Marquez each had two stolen bases.
Hunter Autrey, Cothren, Doggett, Cates, and Jacob Cates each got hits for Duluth Destroyers. Doggett led the team with two hits.

Three pitchers baffled the Berkeley Red Sox and teamed up to throw a no-hitter for Duluth Destroyers in a 3-1 victory in five innings over the Berkeley Red Sox on Sunday at Laurel Park.
Brandon Cothren, Cole Paschall, and Ethan Doggett tallied nine strikeouts and walked eight in completing the no-no.
Paschall was in control on the mound. Paschall held the Berkeley Red Sox hitless over zero innings, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out none.
Cothren was in control on the rubber. Cothren held the Berkeley Red Sox hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.

Aggressive baserunning led to six steals for Duluth Destroyers. Ben Moser, Ethan Doggett, and Sheets each had one stolen base and Christian Marquez had three stolen bases.

Collins Hill didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as Duluth Destroyers captured a blowout 12-3 win in five innings at Field #2.

Norcross and Duluth Destroyers played to an 11-11 tie on Monday.
The top of the first saw Duluth Destroyers take an early lead, 3-0. Christian Marquez singled to ignite Duluth Destroyers' offense. A single by Dylan Cates then moved Marquez from first to second. Then a steal of home by Marquez scored Marquez. The scoreboard lit up again for Duluth Destroyers when Cates scored and Cothren scored.

Duluth Destroyers outmuscled by Grayson, 12-1

Duluth Destroyers dropped a 12-1 decision to Grayson at Field #1 on Sunday.
Jacob Cates got on base one time in the game for Duluth Destroyers.
Grayson was led by a flawless day at the dish by D Perteet, who went 1-1 against Duluth Destroyers' pitching. Perteet singled in the first inning.
Duluth Destroyers couldn't get anything going so long as E Sturgill toed the rubber. Duluth Destroyers managed just one hit off of the Grayson's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.
Grayson closer P Shaddix put away the final three outs to record the save.

Duluth Destroyers blew out North GA Outlaws 10-0 on Saturday at Alberta Banks Park after pouring on nine runs in the fourth inning.
Ethan Doggett racked up two RBIs on two hits for Duluth Destroyers. Doggett doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fourth inning.
North GA Outlaws had no answer for Dylan Cates, who cruised on the mound. North GA Outlaws managed just one hit off of Cates, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during his three innings of work.

Two pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter for Duluth Destroyers in a 10-0 victory in five innings over Next Level Baseball on Saturday at Alberta Banks Park.
Brandon Cothren and Nick Wiltgen tallied nine strikeouts and walked one in completing the no-no.
Cothren gave Next Level Baseball fits on the rubber. Cothren held Next Level Baseball hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.
